The hardware from hell...

OK, that title is not precisely accurate, but I went to install the pretty pretty hardware for my bathroom cabinets and, despite having checked the measurements twice, the little screw holes were just 1/8" off on either side and will have to be returned. I had been waiting in anticipation all weekend! I even considered drilling new holes in my cabinets for about 10 seconds, but I don't think the landlord would be pleased. So it's back to the drawing board...

At least the rest of the bathroom is sort of shaping up - I put a mum in the measuring tube, isn't it sweet?

Maybe it would help if you took one of the existing handles with you on your shopping trip - you could compare exactly and have that much more confirmation that the holes line up. A pain, these things should be standard.

Slightly related, I did make it over to the Chicago Antique Market on Saturday - and I saw your globe's twin sister there! But also, there were several local architectural salvage shops represented, several selling cabinet hardware in interesting designs and colors. Just thought I'd mention it, because when it first came up a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't thought of salvage as a source for that sort of thing, at least not with a modern twist. Might be even harder to find a fit that way, but...

Hey that looks super cute! I love the tray on the toilet idea, it looks so much prettier than what I have (a boom box because my roommates can't shower without music...) I think that's a sorority habit or something.

Curing over on ATSF somebody linked your cure blog and I love your bathroom pictures! You're doing such a great job! I had to say though, it's not a test tube or a measuring tube - it's a graduated cylinder. Anyways, can't wait to see more pics!
