Fornasetti

You may remember that I am obsessed with Fornasetti. I am constantly trolling ebay for some satisfaction - torture, really, because even there most of the prices are astronomical.

Anyhow, I LOVE this tray. Wouldn't it be just the perfect thing to rest your baubles on? Get it on Ebay.

Oh my goodness, I know avian imagery is all over the place and if you read a few design blogs you're probably sick to death of it by now, but bear with me. I love this storage box that's now available here at Urban Outfitters. It's so fun and practical too - I would love to have a few of those to stash my magazines in.

It kind of reminds me of the new Dwell chinoiserie bedding that has not yet been released, which I am absolutely freaking obsessed with. If you like it too, it's available for preorder at Design Public. I love that print it's displayed with as well - looks like a vintage botanical print. Too bad it's exorbitantly priced (for a college student) and they only make it in full and queen sizes...my bedroom in my apartment is matchbox sized (seriously - it's 8' x 10') and a twin bed is all that will fit. I still have my art nouveau-style twin bed frame scavenged by my resourceful mom from a flea market that I've had ever since I can remember. Maybe I'll post pictures sometime - I adore it and hope the termites never find it.

Transglass

I've been coveting Tord Boontje and Emma Woffenden's Transglass set since we bought it for a wedding gift last year. And now the entire four-piece set is on sale for $80.50 (from $115) at the wonderful Rose and Radish. Each piece is unique and they are made from recycled glass. I think that they are awfully striking. Get it here while the sale lasts.

Blinded

Just saw a post at Apartment Therapy: Chicago on these fantastic window blinds from Love is Blind. I'm currently staring at my rather boring (and revealing) bamboo blinds...I've been thinking about a change-up for awhile now, and I absolutely adore these! They come in multiple patterns but this is my favorite. My bed faces the window, and I can imagine waking up every day with a smile on my face.

Click here for the link to the original post on Apartment Therapy: Chicago (where you can see photos of the other designs), and here for the UK shop which is carrying the product, called Bodie and Fou. The shop owner actually was kind enough to post in the comment section of the AT post and said that with VAT, shipping and exchange rate the blinds would cost about $120 for US buyers (the blinds are listed as £49.99 in the UK).
More fashion week posts coming later...I'm trying to mix it up a bit, see?

Seize the Day!

You know, my dad has always told me to seize the day. Carpe Diem is like his catch phrase, and it used to infuriate me when I would whine to him for 20 minutes about some silly little thing and he would respond with those two words. He still does it...but now, of course, I just grin. Okaaaay Dad. I'm seizing it!

Though I still wonder whether it was drilled into him by the Jesuits through one too many readings of Horace... or whether he picked it up from Robin Williams's classic film, The Dead Poets Society. Or a bit of both. (Are you reading this? Inquring minds want to know!)

So you can, perhaps, imagine my amusement when I found this pillowcase:

Continuing the Yellow Trend

Perhaps you remember this post, in which I raved about the yellow 1970s "donut" phone. Very cool.

Looky here:

Don't you just love this vintage tea kettle? For $65 it's a bit steep for me (pun definitely not intended!). I already have a perfectly servicable red one from Bodum, anyways. Oh well - we can dream, right?
